Haphazard Thoughts

long time no post eh.

sorry for not posting here for 3 weeks, or something. haha. that post was rotting already. so i had to make this to make up for it. whee. hi everyone.

i haven't been blogging here because i've been posting my daily blog entries here. livejournal is so much easier to update kasi, in my opinion anyway. i'll be blogging more often in that site, so please visit there if you have the time. thanks :D

anyway, lots of things have happened of course, but mostly schoolwork. after so many longtests that we had to take (which i was lucky enough to get fair grades on), now we face the seemingly never-ending bulk of projects. it's already starting. waah. good luck to all of us.

today is supposed to be the last day of math camp at dlsu, and as you can see, i'm not there. i didn't attend the first session because i was too tired from school, i attended the next 2 sessions, with the second one disappointing me so much because it was so boring, and we had to make a presentation for today =)) wtf. so i didn't attend today for 3 reasons. one, i can't stand waking up early again on a saturday and go to "school" and study the entire day. two, i can't really work well because my sickness is getting worse and worse. and three, i do not want to show up in dlsu not knowing what our presentation is going to be, and not even knowing our color-coded shirts =)) wala lang. pero i wanted steven to buy me the 100% pure lasalle shirt sana, but then he didn't reply last night T_T sayang. ergh.

i finished reading harry potter and the half-blood prince 2 weeks ago. it took me long enough - 13 hours to be exact (unlike some people there who could finish it in 6 hours, ahaha) i loved the book, though the ending was crap. damn it. i'm already looking forward to the next book, because i really want the prince to die =)) or something. malay mo joke lang pala na pinatay si ano, and he's actually still alive. mwahaha. sana =)) me and my radical dreams.

oh yeah, we're having swimming in p.e. already. ahaha =)) i'm starting to love swimming again, even though i still hate the fact that we have to change 2 times in a span of 50 minutes, and the fact that our swimming time is so limited. yeah, so i love swimming nga. i used to take it every summer eh. and even though i'm not that fast, it's still great fun. i'm actually planning to take it again next summer, though that's 8 months away =))

i'm loving my class. go junior e! andaming hirit sa classroom eh. it makes studying a whole lotta easier on you. plus ang raming chichi. ahaha. it's like i know more of the batch right now than i ever knew them my entire life. dati kasi i was restricted to chichi in the honor sec, which was also cool. =)) but now the honor sec people have more freedom in expressing themselves to each other, which is also good. diba? *winks*

political issues haven't gone away, and the sona was last monday. i didn't really grab much from it, apart from the progress our country's making. oh well. and i finished my eco report about it as well. i'm planning to post it into my lj some time this week.

it's been noted that i'm always found in town when it's a friday or a saturday or a sunday. =)) these past few weeks, i've been going to town constantly, of course partly because of my math camp. it's been nice though, as i have watched a lot of movies. or a lot for me, anyway. part of those are "the island", "herbie: fully loaded" (LOL), and err..i seem to have forgotten the rest. basta yun.

anyway, that's it. :D tc all.

happy birthday mark diomampo! bukas pa, but still. :D

taking it one step at a time...

yep. that's now my attitude towards school. never panic, just take everything thrown at you one at a time. junior year is tough, but manageable. you just have to set your mind to it.

i've been getting good scores on tests, and i'm happy. they're not the best scores in the world, but they're good enough for me. my adviser told me to keep up my grades this year because this and next year would be the basis of colleges for application. yeah, i'm trying my best.

our last basketball session in p.e. was okay. i scored on a 3 pointer, but failed on my other 6 attempts. ergh. pressure. i think i did okay though. david said i would be part of the intrams squad, whoo. i actually had a lot of fun during the game. we won by 3 points i think, and that's cool. i'm not that excited for swimming, since it's basic life saving this year. oh, and i never did like swimming in school for pe. the time allotment is just too little. i wish they made p.e. 2 periods again.

pep rally was held last thursday. normal things happened, things you should expect from a pep rally. i liked the pep squad of course. china falling twice isn't a good thing though. my heart leaped when she was flipped forward and not backward. panic mode. it's great she wasn't hurt. anyway, yun nga. usual things happened. oh, and that little girl was entertaining. haha. nakakatuwa yung dance moves niya while singing eh. and she had voice, in fairness. it's also nice that i saw you there, that lessened stress in my mind.

balancing your activities are neccessary. i don't want to be one of those people who don't have time for anything else aside from studying your ass off. it's just not worth it. i want to be as close to normal as possible. i try to go out as much as time and my body would allow me to. that has been the case every year, and i'm trying to keep it up.

friday, we went to town again. gliza and i toured town for a bit while waiting for the others to arrive. we watched fantastic four. even though the movie wasn't that well constructed, it was entertaining. oh, and having jessica alba in a movie is never bad. ahaha. the rest of the night was spent just traversing many parts of town, while talking about some chichi. mark definitely made the time in rustans entertaining enough. haha.

the class' attitude is making the workload significantly lighter on the mind. their antics are definitely award-winning. ahaha. i wish sir sabilano sings to us once again. para masaya. the different hirits make everything easier on the senses. i doubt anyone is going to disagree with me on that.

i can't believe sir laqui is my textmate. =)) we talked about the taft thing last night while i was eating my crepe in cafe breton. lol. i haven't received word from him whether i could still join next week or not. my parents want me to join, and i admit it is a great opportunity. it's colliding with the release of harry potter next week though. ahaha. so i don't know. HARRY POTTER IS HERE IN 1 WEEK! i can't wait. frequent visits to mugglenet are unavoidable.

i'll be sticking to the tv for the rest of the weekend. i'm really hooked to the f1 race, the world pool championship, and to cnn. the london bombing was really sad. ergh. and of course, philippine politics. it's weird that my ninong is actually speaking on tv about the country's issues. too bad he has no job now.

oh, if you have time and are bored, please read the survey below. thanks :D

the chance to learn and serve

although it's been tough in school, i'm glad that i have friends to make me hang around in it.

i applied for lsyc last monday, hoping to get a chance to be in it. most of my former classmates are in it, and i would love to be with them as much as possible this school year. the interview went well, i think, and i actually had a lot of fun while in the interview. of course, having them as my interviewers helped. diba? :D it was weird being sandwiched in front of more or less 8-10 people while supplying answers or talking. but anyway, i knew most of them, so it wasn't that scary. thankfully i didn't worry that much, so i think i answered well enough. ahaha. anyway, hopefully, i'll be going to the retreat in 2 weeks time. tama ba michael?

i also have a yfc application form with me right now. i'm doubting that i'm going to join this retreat though. i think i have plans for next week already. anyway, i'll probably just join at a later date, whenever the next retreat would be.

the "monthly" arranged thing in my house was cancelled, because of the soph-c dancers' practice schedule colliding with it. of course, their top priority is the dance, and i wouldn't fight that. after all, what would be better than to see my former classmates dance for one last time together on stage? it would be a great sight. sadly though, i don't think stephen is going to be in the lineup. stephen, i hope you get well soon. as for the monthly thing, i hope we get a date on august that's suitable for a sleepover. i don't think this is going to be possible though, as august and the start of september are pretty much fully booked to homeworks and tests. the most feasible projected date now is after the 1st term finals, which is a long, long way away.

school's been hectic. as usual. but it makes me happy that all my hard work actually results to well...results. it's really a nice feeling when you work your ass off for days and months and see good results from it after all has been done. it's like a driving force that tells you to go on, for whatever you do today will be accounted for in Heaven. hard work reaps rewards. you've got to remember that. anyway, i spent a lot of my time these past few nights trying to finish my art project. art's never been my forte, so it was great just finishing the project. it took me so many hours to finish the thing, and even though it looks utterly disgusting, you could see the hard work put into it. and because of that, i'm happy with my work. it means a lot to me just finishing any art activity. plus, the added fact of me having an insanely painful headache last monday and still being able to finish homework that day is positively uplifting. when there's a will, there's a way! ahaha anlabo.

i don't want to swim in school. well, just not in pe class anyway. if only pe class was 2 periods, and not on a thursday with 50 minutes alloted for each subject. T_T. it really is going to be annoying and boring to have to change and swim just for a few minutes, having to go back to the showers 30 minutes later to catch up for the next subject. argh. i do like swimming, but only if i could spend at least an hour and a half in a pool or beach. ah well, 2 more weeks and it's off to swimming.

honors' convocation is in a week. i'm excited already. in fact, i can't wait.

let me ramble on my favorite issues. wimbeldon was nice, though it's sad that andy roddick lost for the 3rd straight year to federer. argh. hopefully next year, he beats federer in wimbeldon. kawawa naman yung tao eh. ahaha. tiger woods lost again, though he was 2nd AGAIN in the western open. haay. well, on the bright side, at least he's actually finishing in the top 2. diba diba? kimi raikkonen got 2nd place last sunday! yehey. i'm so proud of him. go kimi! lance armstrong has the yellow jersey! celebration! i really hope he wins this year. after all, it is his final tour de france. what a way it would be to end his career by winning his 7th consecutive tour de france crown. that would be an amazing accomplishment. lastly, on the world pool championship. i haven't watched a lot of matches, but i've learned that efren reyes and bustamante are now both eliminated. it's sad. hopefully a filipino wins the tournament, though i'm actually rooting for alex pagulayan. i don't really know where he is right now though, ahaha. sana buhay pa.

that's it. goodbye. =)

the circle of life

i'm currently buried under severe pressure and stress from homework but what the heck. i have to blog about this. =))

since the last time i blogged, so many things have happened. but i'll only get into the important ones. first of, my sister tried out for gap. yes, gap. i waited for her to finish her tryouts tuesday and thursday. sadly though, when the list was posted, her name wasn't in it. sayang. ah well, i'm sure she'll get lots of chances to dance anyway. plus, she's already a volleyball player.

as i said, i'm buried under homework right now. the 2 making me worried the most are the t.h.e. hw and the art project. see, i'm really bad in art. if there was 1 subject i would want to scrap out of MY curriculum, it would be art. i was never good at it, and it shows in our genes. i couldn't even get my mom or dad to draw me a tree when i was young. nakakatawa nga nung wednesday eh, my classmates were laughing at me kasi daw top 1 ako pero mas maganda pa yung sa kanila. which was actually very true. lol. i loved their armatures, they were great. i don't know what to do now, as i have no wire yet. so i'm scared. perhaps the only consolation i could get is that our teacher is very generous when it comes to grades. just work hard and follow everything she says, and you get a good grade. hopefully that's what happens to me this school year. this is where i miss my hac classmates the most, when i'm put in a difficult situation.

in our english period last friday, we had a quiz. i had a good score, but that's not the point. the week ended in a high note, as sir noy sang. it was great. the class was all rowdy and we were all so noisy. this is what i like about not being in the hac, perhaps the only thing that's keeping me from going insane from schoolwork. they never seem to cease to make you laugh because of their countless hirits. i've been labelled bad boy #2, ahaha. grabe sila sa classroom, putek. i wonder what would have happened to me if i wasn't in the honor's class for 6 years. hmm. anyway, masaya nga yung english, even though we didn't get to do the hot seat part with our cds. oh, my burnt cd had a mixture of tracks that i liked, which up until now i can't decide on what i like the most from. i put in one track i really loved and that made my childhood great. "circle of life" makes me peaceful and serene up until now. it makes me reinkindle my childhood and remember the times i didn't have to worry about school work at all. sure, my grades were lower back then and i didn't really focus on friends (i'm more of a personal type of person), but at least i had fun. the lion king is my favorite cartoon movie of all time, and i don't think it will ever cease to make me happy.

we went to town last friday. after a short dinner at china star (of which i didn't have money to pay), we watched "monster-in-law". i had to borrow money from johann because i really had 0 in my pocket. the no allowance policy which i continue on following is really hurting me. i've been broke for 2 weeks now, and i can't see myself continuing to eat normally for another 4 weeks with no allowance to pay for my phone. anyway, the movie was fine. i wasn't really myself at that time though. after a few more hours, we left.

yesterday was one of the best days of my life. even though i woke up with a slight fever, i was looking forward to the day with eyes that you only see from a little boy opening his birthday gifts. it was our parents' wedding anniversary, and they brought us along with them to celebrate it. ok, so the day started when we got dressed to go to alabang. we got to take home our new chevrolet venture, yay. the people that were supposed to buy our trooper were not that ecstatic about our trooper though. kasi naman, when we said we had the 2002 trooper, i think they expected the car to have a sunroof, which sadly enough, we didn't have. the 2002 sun-roof version wasn't released for 3 months after we bought ours. T_T. so yeah, i'll advertise here. lol. we're selling the car, to anyone who would be interested. =)) anyway, i love the new car. BUCKET SEATS. yehey. we bought go nuts donuts to cap it all off. another thing to celebrate.

after getting the new car, we drove to market! market! to eat lunch and meet our dad. see, our dad had practiced gun shooting in the morning. =)) i still can't believe his stories that he nailed the targets using the armalite and pistols. LOL. anyway, it was an office event, so all his bosses and officemates were there. yeah. so we met him in chowking at lunch time, as i advised all of them not to eat much in preparation for the big dinner. we shopped for a while, (i got to buy a new headset with microphone) and then headed to greenbelt 3 to watch "war of the worlds". after a few minutes of timezone, and getting the last 5 seats together right in front of the theater, we entered. funnily enough, all of their previews were about horror films. =)) one was exceptionally funny. you think it's a comedy movie, and then it suddenly changes into a horror film right on the end. i believe its' title is "red eye". anyway, the movie was okay, as it had great special effects and you were tensed the whole time up until the end. but then i didn't get the ending much, as did most of the crowd. it was based from the novel of h.g. wells, so i imagined myself 100 years ago, and what my mindset about the world would be. i think that the movie is kind of old fashioned, and it's based more on the mentality of people 100 years ago, when we didn't know much about the world. (spoiler: i can't really imagine aliens being that stupid.)

after dinner, finally it was time to eat in circles, or so we thought. when we arrived in shang hotel, the place was fully booked. we had to wait for over an hour just to enter the place. but it was worth it. i saw the chocolate fountain, and ate the chocolate stuff. lol. in the end though, the restaurant won over us. we didn't eat much, as after 1 serving of a plate full of food and a chocolate packed dessert, i couldn't go on. i felt liked puking on the next bite. =)) the waitress even said that we ate too little. haha. circles=1, ysmael family=0. that, my parents said, was their present to me for my accomplishments last year. i was okay with it, as i got what i wanted. (except for the weight, as i gained 3.5 pounds) =)) it was a happy moment, finally being there.

as we came back to the car, we visited music one and i got to persuade my parents to buy a hale cd and a batman and robin dvd. i was really interested in buying the dvd because i didn't remember watching it before and it had huge stars such as alicia silverstone, george clooney, uma thurman, and arnold schwarzenegger. i'm bent on watching it while i'm studying for our filipino and geometry long tests. woohoo. yesterday was great.

ok, so this ends this happy blog. i've just seen the f1 commercial and realized that the race isn't in canada (which i thought it was), and it's actually in great britain T_T. i could watch it later on! yehey. lastly, go andy roddick! lol. hopefully he beats federer later on.

sige goodbye. see you all in school =)
