likes and dislikes
we started saturday by going to the hospital in quezon city. this was the hospital where my mom gave birth to all of us 3, her kids. yesterday, it was the hospital that contained my lolo, who had a problem with something in his body. anyway, we went to capitol hospital at around 10 am, and upon arriving, i was quickly reminded of a recent event in the same place. the same lolo was there about 2 years ago, when he had a stroke, the 3rd of his life. at that time, we were very scared, as everything was looking bad. yesterday, however, was a different story. we weren't as panicky nor were we that scared of seeing our grandfather. thankfully, he was alright, with no major problems. i never like any family member to go to a hospital because of an affliction, it's just sad. everyone gets saddened and scared. i have disliked hospitals ever since i was 3, the first time i was ever confined in one after my birth. since then, i have had a phobia of hospitals, especially with the "hospital smells". lol. i usually get paranoid when coming to hospitals, so..haha. anyway, we visited our lolo and were preparing for his release from the hospital. the doctors were very demanding of their payments though. T_T. overall, 5 days in the hospital and several check-ups cost our family 60,000 pesos. but in the end, it was ok, at least our lolo was fine. for lunch, we went to teriyaki boy. my brother was reluctant at first and said that he wouldn't want to eat anything, but in the end, he was one of the people who ate the most. haha. i ate tempura and california maki for the first time, i think (bea, johann, and sarah - congratulate me! lol). i'm stupid when it comes to japanese cuisine. after that, my parents went back to the hospital to get our grandfather released while i and my siblings went to my lola's house in quezon city. i and jaren played basketball in the mini-court again, lol. it's really fun destroying the ring since it's so low. you feel almost invincible to little kids. haha. after an hour, my parents arrived in the house with my lolo. we spent a few hours there, watching one of the three ninjas movies, which i loved so much when i was young.
we left our grandparents' house at around 4, and ventured to town. whoo. my dad and i went to cd-r king to purchase cds. we bought a hundred new ones, yehey. i can finally burn cds again. we then went to the phone place at the 2nd floor. we haggled for hours, and compared phones, until my parents finally agreed and bought me a phone (well, hati kami sa bayad, but oh well). i ended up having a nokia 6600, same as rodneys', although i'm still not sure whether i made the right decision of picking it over the k700i. i guess not, but at least i have a phone now. whee. i can text again! well, almost. i still don't have a sim card, lol. my tita's supposed to pick it up at any globe shop since the line's named to her. i hope i get the sim soon, so i could start updating and putting all sorts of stuff to my phone. haha. i'm extremely excited. after buying the phone, we went to north park to eat dinner. i was too bloated from teriyaki boy to eat a lot, so i ended up eating almost nothing. i did, however, drink 2 glasses of their fresh lemonade. lastly, before going home, we went to powerbooks, where i luckily bought on sale "the rule of four". yehey. last friday, powerbooks had it out of stock. my mom tried to give me another reservation confirmation slip for harry potter 6, since i lost everything in my wallet before. the lady told us that we had to have a valid id, something which i didn't have - they were all in the wallet. haha. so on tuesday, i'll make another trip to powerbooks to show them my PASSPORT. lol. i'll also go to school along with my siblings for our id pics and uniforms. my sister has her volleyball practice again T_T. haha.
today, we had mass at 10 am, then went to paseo de santa rosa to wait while my dad was having a haircut. this turned out to be a lucky break for me. we went inside speedo and browsed for things. my sister told me something that my crush had on before. she said she saw this person wear this in school. lol. anyway, i was supposed to buy shorts, the xenith goggles, and slippers there, but it didn't push through. i ended up buying something else. shoes! whoo. after a long time searching for the exact shoe in town in dismay, i almost gave up on my quest to find it. i was actually going to resort to buying it over the internet, but luckily, i found them a while ago in the nike park outlet store. yehey. they arrived just 2 days ago. jordan XIX, you're mine! haha. so you see, these 2 days have been one of the happiest materialistic days of my life! i don't get to buy stuff often, because of my parents' closed pockets. so you could just imagine what i feel right now. ecstatic might be close.
my family talked about oil prices while in the car a while ago. they said that in other countries, such as the united states, or places in europe, oil prices are double of what they are here in the philippines. if we only had the proper wages here in our country, there's actually nothing to complain about. but of course, the relative prices of oil here as compared to the wages are staggering. travelling 50 km going to makati and another 50 going back to our house has its' toll on our family lifestyle. gasoline prices take up a HUGE amount of our monthly budget. scary.
no one has the same likes. people have different tastes, even if they're family members. to one, someone might look gorgeous, but to another, the same person might look ugly. haha. my friends have different tastes in terms of women's prettiness, shoes, music, and basically everything in the world. me and my parents, even my siblings have difference of opinion about shoes. this was proven a while ago, while we were debating on what shoes to buy my brother, who's having his birthday in less than a month. you can never please anyone forever, even in giving gifts, thinking that you have actually given the person something he/she likes. it's impossible. but there's always the power of compromise. in relationships, surely there would be conflicts of interests. the only way of sustaining the love in the relationship is when the couple know how to deal with each other and change their habits to suit their other half's. that's the miracle of love. so ok, i don't really know how i wrote this. anlabo, it has no connection whatsoever to the first sentence of the paragraph. now this is how to get a failing grade in topic sentences =))
anyway, i'm watching f1 now. this cable is still dumb. star sports doesn't have commentators' audio?! gahd. the only thing i'm hearing is the sound of the shrieking engines of the cars. but then again, at least i'm able to watch it. go kimi! HE GOT POLE! WHOOO!!!! tc everyone =)
*oh btw, just an edit, i'm now watching the pope's inagural mass. wow. there's a gold book. ang galing! oh, it's the book of gospels pala. i want one of those, lol. the scene is so..holy. i'm looking forward to his homily. he doesn't look so scary anymore. hehe.
